The image I have selected to process is the one at bottom right and is a Jpeg file from the Fujifilm HS-10. DPP does apply a touch more default sharpening, resulting in images that are - at a pixel-level - a little crisper. Color rendition and tonality are virtually identical. Canon's Digital Photo Professional emulates the output of the camera's JPEG engine very closely. What this is doing is adding a 'sharpening' step and creating artifacts. DXO OPTICS PRO 7.5.3 UPDATE
Update 281110 - Since publishing this, I have found that it is better to turn off the 'DxO Lens Softness' adjustment, particularly with Jpeg images. See DxO's up-to-date chart of the exact lenses and cameras covered here. DxO Optics Pro Elite works with all those, as well as pro cameras like the Nikon D2Xs and Canon 5D and 1Ds.
Note : To see larger sizes of the images, simply click on the image DxO Optics Pro Standard works the fixed-lens cameras, and DSLRs like the Nikon D80, D70, D200 and Canon Rebels and 30D. So, intrigued, I downloaded it and started playing.īelow, are just a few screen shots, and edit examples, showing some of the different things you can use DxO for.
Recently, I received an email from DxO mentioning that their new version (6.5) also did Single-Shot HDR.
DXO OPTICS PRO 7.5.3 SOFTWARE
The discounts include all DxO software packages, including the latest releases: DxO Photo Lab 5 (free trial) DxO FilmPack 6 (free trial) DxO PureRaw 1.5 (free trial) DxO Nik Collection 4. The main reason I stopped using it was due to my upgrading from Photoshop CS2 to CS3, then CS4, and now CS5. The current DxO software sale (up to 30 off) will end in two days. I was using DxO Optics Pro quite regularly a couple of years back, for my S100 fs images. This is part of a 'How To' series on post process work.
